Kidney Physiology:

  • Each kidney has about 1,000,000 filtering units, called nephrons.
  • Every 45 minutes, your whole blood supply passes through your kidneys.
  • Roughly 40 gallons of blood in women and 48 gallons of blood in men are filtered each day.
  • The color of your urine can reflect if you are drinking enough water; it is usually light clear/yellow if you are drinking enough water and dark yellow if you are not.

Dehydration can cause: dizziness, headaches, kidney stones, constipation, dry mouth, adrenal fatigue, sleep disorders, mood disorders, toxic overload, excessive hunger cravings, tiredness….and more. As we age the thirst mechanism diminishes.

Proper Hydration is the 1st step toward great health! Water alone is what the body needs for proper hydration!

The human body needs ½ its weight in ounces of water daily. In summer time or days of exercise add 10% or more! Example: 1 20lb needs 60 oz. of water. Increase SLOWLY by 8 oz. per week until your dosage is achieved.

Tap water is toxic and is to be avoided, bottle water is better but is in plastic which can leach “BPA” (an estrogenic like chemical) especially if left in a hot car or in sunlight.
